Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker and his wife Wendy Cherry recently celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
Parker took to social media to mark this joyous day in their love journey.
“Happy Anniversary to the most amazing Wife in the world. You are my Rock, my Confident and my Soulmate. Love You Babe,” he expressed.
Parker married Wendy Cherry on the 16th of June 2012 in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal at a ceremony attended by 170 guests.
Last year, Bernard Parker suffered a horror injury while playing against Mamelodi Sundowns. The player underwent surgery on his broken leg and has been on an inspirational journey of recovery.
His wife, Wendy commended him on his incredible sportsmanship.
“Bernard Parker you have redefined sportsmanship, you respect the game, your teammates, the other team, and most importantly the fans.”
While being carried out of the stadium on a stretcher, Parker applauded the fans despite visibly being in pain, which warmed Wendy and the hearts of the fans.
“After being struck down, you exit the stadium in high spirits, applauding the fans with a smile on your face, all while in excruciating pain. It has never been about anything more than your love and appreciation for the game. You wear your heart on your sleeve, no matter the circumstances. You have moved us as a nation. You have touched our hearts. Leader keep inspiring Yesterday you broke your leg but it was my heart that broke.”
