“Pastry Princess” Thembekile Charlotte Letlape’s boyfriend, who is accused of her murder, faces a previous assault charge with a pending warrant of arrest.
Sibusiso Zitha made his second appearance in court on Friday, 07 June after handing himself over to police following being on the run since Thembekile’s lifeless body was discovered in his Fourways home on 30 May.
Zitha who was filmed confessing to murdering his chef girlfriend “by mistake”, will have his previous charge of assault dealt with in conjunction with the case of murder.
Initially denying that he has prior charges or protection orders for gender-based violence, Zitha’s previous assault was laid bare by senior prosecutor Yusuf Baba.

Thembekile’s father, Dr Kgosi Letlape found her lifeless body at Zitha’s Fourways home.
Dr Letlape, the former South African Medical Association Chairperson went to check on his daughter after she had sent her mother a distressing text message, as reported by News24.
Zitha will be back in the dock on Thursday, 13 June after the matter was moved to all his lawyer time to go through the charge sheet and for a bail application date to be set.
He was assigned a lawyer on Friday after he requested the assistance of legal aid during his first court appearance.
