The Springbok Women’s national rugby team has been congratulated by President Cyril Ramaphosa on winning the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup and qualifying for the Rugby World Cup in England in 2025. The Springbok Women won the African title this past weekend, defeating Madagascar 46–17 at home in Antananarivo.
With this victory, Africa’s best team is now qualified for both the Rugby World Cup and the WXV 2, which will be held in September 2024 in South Africa. In the second division of this three-tier international competition, South Africa will play the national teams of Scotland, Italy, the United States, Japan, and Samoa, all of which are organized by World Rugby.
