Congratulations are in order for Kaya Biz presenter Gugulethu Mfuphi who is 1 of 10 people globally to have been selected as a World Press Institute (WPI) International Fellow.
Each year, hundreds of professional journalists from around the world apply for 10 WPI fellowship slots.
The chosen finalists represent some of the best journalists in their respective countries. They are innately curious, intelligent and ambitious, and approach journalism with a deep sense of dedication and responsibility.
As one of the 10 selected International Fellows, Gugulethu will travel across the United States from 06 September to 09 November exploring cutting-edge media innovations and immersing herself in the intricate political landscape of the US.

The competition was extremely tough and the WPI received thousands of applications from around the world.
Gugulethu went through several rigorous rounds of interviews before finally being selected.
This means Gugulethu Mfuphi will spend 9-weeks in the United States with the 9 other International Fellows, meeting world leaders in journalism, politics, policy making and business.

The 10 WPI International Fellows hail from Brazil, Bulgaria, Finland, India, Italy, Kosovo, Nigeria, Peru, and Ukraine.
Gugulethu will be representing the future of media for South Africa, taking her wealth of knowledge and award-winning business prowess to the US.
