“My husband’s weight gain is affecting our intimacy” – The Blindspot.
How do you control your emotions when there are changes to the intimacy in your relationship because of your partner’s excessive weight gain?
This is the dilemma with Anonymous, who is concerned about her husband’s weight gain affecting their sex life. She says her husband doesn’t last as long as he used to, and shared that he gets so drained afterwards.
Anonymous reached out to The Best T In the City for some advice on how she should approach the situation to make her husband realize that his weight gain is affecting her and matters in their bedroom.
“Uncle T, I have been married for a little over 5 years. Things have been going well but my husband has gained so much weight. I know it has been said that weight gain in a relationship is a sign for a good thing but what happens when it starts affecting intimacy? Hubby is always tired; he now can’t go on for long, and he always looks so drained after the dance. I am worried for him and sometimes I avoid sex with him, because what if he has a heart attack? I have raised the weight issue, but he doesn’t seem to take it seriously.
I love him, but my sexual needs are not met, and I don’t know how much longer I can go on like this. How do I make him understand his weight is affecting us in the bedroom? I try put myself in his shoes, yes I’ll be hurt should he say that to me, but I’d later respect him because it will show that he cares for me. Who does he want to hear it from, if not from me?”
