Moja Love has distanced itself from former presenter, Xolani Khumalo’s new drug busting show.
This comes after the platform learnt that Khumalo has allegedly been shooting his new show under the guise of Sizok’thola, his previous show with the channel.
In a statement, Moja Love says there have been complaints and incidents that have been brought to the attention of the platform, but say there is no link with Khumalo.
“Moja Love would like to set the record straight that it is not the channel’s property that has been filming and distances itself from the rogue activities.
Moja Love has been receiving complaints about unfortunate incidents during filming from The Consulate General of Nigeria and the Embassy of the DRC about their citizens who have been attacked during filming.
Sizok’thola is the intellectual property of Moja Love and Xolani Khumalo is using the concept of the channel, which ammounts to breaking the law.
The channel has sent him a letter of cease and desist and we will do everything in power within the law, to stop him.
The channel will be meeting with The Consulate General of Nigeria and the DRC Ambassador as soon as possible to address the matter and clear its name.
We appeal to the public to report any illegal activity to the police.”
Khumalo announced in February that he will be hosting a new drug busting show after his exit from Moja Love and the controversy that followed him from Sizok’thola.
It is reported that Khumalo and other members of the Sizok’thola team adopted harsh interrogation tactics, such as waterboarding to allegedly force drug dealers to make confessions.
In July 2023, a suspected drug dealer passed away, prompting the channel to part ways with Khumalo.
Khumalo was replaced from the show by Xolani Maphanga.
