Billionaire businessman Vivian Reddy has spoken out about the confusion between him and uMkhonto we Sizwe Party (MK Party) leader, Visvin Reddy.
This after the latter was charged with inciting public violence whilst addressing congregants at a party rally.
The 53-year old politician made an appearance at the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 03 April facing a charge for the contravention of the Riotous Assemblies Act over his alleged incitement of public violence.
A video of Visvin Gopal Reddy making alleged threats of widespread public violence has been widely circulated on social media, and he is expected back in court on 14 June.
With the similarities between their names, Vivian Reddy who is married to Real Housewives of Durban’s Sorisha Naidoo said he was getting tired of having his name dragged through the mud because of Visvin Reddy.
“I want to address recent confusion about my name and clarify a few things, firstly there’s confusion between the similarities of my name and that of a politician named Visvin Reddy.
Although our names are alike, we are two different individuals. Also, I’m not associated with any political party.
There are certain devious, propaganda, fake social media accounts that have been spreading misinformation claiming that I’m funding or establishing political parties.
I deny these baseless allegations as fake news.
I believe in the power of unity and collaboration to ensure we reach our shared goals. My political allegiance is clear, and is well known to most South Africans and has not changed.
I kindly request your support in dispelling any confusion or misinformation surrounding these matters.”

Vivian Reddy also offered R5 million to anyone who can prove he’s bribing ANC officials.
This was after the owner of KwaDukuza Mall was accused of bribing officials and said to be controlling the municipality’s purse strings.
