Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader, Gayton Mckenzie has put up a R1 million reward for the safe return of Joslin Smith.
More than a month since the 6-year old from Diazville, Saldanha Bay went missing there is still no trace of her, and the search for Joslin has lost momentum.
With four people who were close to the green-eyed girl in custody facing human trafficking and kidnapping charges, the investigation has still not wielded positive results.
Joslin’s mother Kelly Smith claimed her daughter went missing on 19 February whilst in the care of her boyfriend Jacquin Appollis.
However, it soon came to light that Kelly and Appollis sold litle Joslin for a mere R20 000, allegedly to a sangoma for muthi.
Kelly and Jacquin are crystal meth users and the mother of 3 who is reportedly pregnant with her fourth child, will join her co-accused back at the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on 13 May.
On 02 March, blood-stained clothes believed to belong to Joslin were found close to the informal settlement home that she disappeared from.
All four suspects, Kelly Smith, Jacquin Appollis, Steveno Dumaizio and Lorentia Lombard abandoned bail.
Mckenzie who has been on the ground in the search for Joslin, took to his Facebook page on Tuesday, 26 March to offer a R1 million reward for the safe return of Joslin Smith.
The PA leader who rallied people in Ennerdale, Johannesburg last weekend to help find another missing 6-year old girl, said police had been misleading the community, lying about a breakthrough in the investigation into Joslin’s whereabouts.
“We are not losing hope and we will keep searching until we find our child.
I’m putting a R1 million reward to anyone who can give us information on where Joslin is. I know there’s someone out there who knows something, I was a criminal, and when I commited a crime, it’s either my girlfriend or my friends who knew.
So, somebody knows. I want that somebody, I’m speaking to you tonight, there’s R1 million for you.”
Gayton Mckenzie reiterated that his party will never stop looking for Joslin, and the PA will be hosting a prayer service in Saldanha Bay over the Easter weekend in her honour.
