The ever-so-elegant Ayanda Ncwane has denied being a tribalist.
The accusations came following the airing of the latest episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Durban’, where Ayanda said her fellow RHOD star, Kgomotso Ndungane, isn’t “umuntu” which can be translated as “human”.
“Akayena umuntu, umTswana,” said Ncwane.
She was responding to LaConco questioning if Kgomotso is black based on her “broken” English and Setswana.

Ncwane’s response sparked a debate on social media, with some social media users saying she was implying that Kgomotso is not human.
However, Ncwane set the record straight in an interview with ‘Isolezwe’ publication.
She says the subtitling gave people the wrong idea.
The wife of the late Gospel star Sfiso Ncwane explained that “Umuntu” in the context that she used refers to a Zulu person, not human being. So, she meant that Ndungane was not Zulu, but Tswana.
She added that she will explain herself in the reunion.
“Umbhalo otolika esikushoyo ovela ngezansi awuyibekanga kahle le nto. Ngizoyichaza kahle kodwa esiqeshini esizohlangana kuso sibuyekeza isizini yonke yohlelo ukuthi indlela esikhuluma ngayo eKZN ukuthi sithi uma kade kuhlangene abantu sithi bekukhona umuntu, iNdiya, iKhaladi nomXhosa. Uma abantu bengilalele kahle ngithe akasiye umuntu, umTswana. Ngizoyichaza kahle kodwa le nto. Angeyisi nje mina sidalo,” she told the publication.

Meanwhile…
It seems Ndungane will no longer be part of the show. She told True Love Magazine that her plan was always to do one season and move on.
“The season has come to an end and everyone is leaving to continue with other commitments. It was great to be part of the show, meeting all the ladies and the production team as a whole. It’s been a great experience. The plan for me was always to do one season and move on to something else,” she told the publication.
