Learners and parents in Noordwyk, Midrand will finally have access to a safe paved road. The City of Joburg has reopened 9th road this morning following its closure in 2019.
The road had been a pressing issue for the local community following several accidents due to reckless driving and inadequate traffic measures. The construction of 9th road was announced last year with a sod-turning ceremony by former executive mayor Herman Mashaba.
Mlimandela Ndamase, the spokesperson for the City, says the road prioritises safety and provides easier access to other routes.
