Today is a special day for the talented South African actor Sana Mchunu, who is celebrating her 54th birthday. Mchunu took to social media to wish herself a happy birthday, expressing how great she feels at 54.
“A 54yr old Mother Of Seven. Has never looked this good. Happy Birthday to me.”
Mchunu is popular for playing Zodwa in the acclaimed South African telenovela Gomora. The drama was canned in 2023.
In 2022, after winning the ‘Favourite Actress’ award at the DSTV Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards, Mchunu received a heroes’ welcome from her team.
When she arrived on set with her award, her colleagues were excited to see her. They even sang and danced to celebrate her victory, which brought tears to her eyes.
After Sana’s big win, Gomora producer Lulu Hela congratulated her on social media. She praised Sana as a true inspiration and expressed the team’s happiness for her success.
Sana’s journey to becoming a successful actor wasn’t easy. She faced challenges in her youth, becoming pregnant as a teenager and dropping out of high school. Her dream of being a backup dancer was also put on hold due to her pregnancy.
Acting wasn’t in Sana’s plans, but fate had other ideas. While accompanying a friend to an audition one day, a director asked her to audition, and she discovered her natural talent for acting.
