Mamelodi Sundowns has taken a big step forward in its pursuit of excellence in women’s football with the appointment of Christa Kgamphe-Jane as the Head of Women’s Football.
In her new position, Christa will assume a sgnificant role in crafting and executing a comprehensive strategy for the women’s football program, integrating it with the club’s broader football strategy, vision, and goals.
She will provide strong leadership and guidance to the coaches, players, and staff within the team, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and professionalism.
Expressing her excitement upon assuming the role, she stated, “Taking up this opportunity means that Mamelodi Sundowns women’s football will be afforded a platform and support to flourish while I am at the helm. The club sought someone with related qualifications, vast experience, and a passion for growing the game. The team is already performing well on the field, and this is a chance to create workable sub-systems and maintain existing ones within the entire structure of this great club. I am here to further enhance the vision of the club. I have been exposed to domestic and international football systems, and this experience will be valuable in this role.”
Beyond strategy formulation, Kgamphe-Jane will also play a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing the next generation of talent. This strategic move ensures that a steady pipeline of talented players is nurtured within the Sundowns system.
