The names and faces of 5 of 7 suspects charged with the murder of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes have been revealed.
This after the father of slain rapper AKA, Tony Forbes said he was disappointed that the 5 men were allowed to keep their faces hidden behind masks.
On Thursday, 29 February 5 of the 7 men arrested for the murders of AKA, and his friend, celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane made an appearance at the Durban Magistrates Court.
All 5 men are facing 10 charges for the 10 February 2023 murders of AKA and Tibz, who were both gunned down outside a restauarant on Florida Road, Durban.
The 10 charges include 2 counts of murder, 4 for attempted murder, 2 charges for the possession of firearms and ammunition, and 1 for conspiracy to commit murder.
Names of the 5 men have been identified as:
- Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi
- Lindani Zenzele Ndimande
- Siyanda Eddie Myeza
- Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni
- Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimane
After voicing his disappointment that the men accused of taking his son’s life were allowed to keep their faces hidden from the public, the court ruled that there were no security concerns against the suspects and they were ordered to show their faces.
While the police are convinced that they have all the men involved in the gruesome murders in custody, Tony Forbes isn’t convinced and still believes that the true mastermind is still at large.

Tony Forbes believes true mastermind is still at large
“I don’t think the Police Commissioner meant that the mastermind has been apprehended, I listened to the briefing and from what I understand he said the coordinator is one of the suspects who was arrested.
The coordinator basically received a sum of money and shared it with 6 other people. Where did that money come from? If it came through the banking system, then police should be able to pick up the trail and continue the investigation.
As to whether this is the true mastermind, uhm, my gut feeling says no, but I haven’t done the investigation, I’m just speculating.”

KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi says the man who put together the assassination team for the murder of AKA is in the dock.
A number of forseeable postponements in the case
The matter has been postponed for bail verification to 06 March. Three of the suspects will remain in custody at the Chatsworth Police Station, and the remaining 2 men will be held at the Westville Prison.
On 06 March the bail application for the 5 suspects will then be postponed to 14 March, and as the matter will most likely not be concluded, the matter will then be postponed to 18 to 19 March.
Due to forseeable circumstances that will mean the bail application will not be concluded during those two days, the matter will then be postponed to 27 March.
The forseeable postponements are due to the availability of legal representatives.
