Last night, Mali became the first housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi house, leaving 22 housemates in the house with 19 still vying for the R2 million grand prize.
The eviction took most people by surprise, as it has not been the norm for any housemate to be evicted in the first week of the show.
The show was opened by Mellow & Sleezy ft. Tman Xpress performed their hit Imnandi Lento, which was followed by host Lawrence Maleka taking the audience through the highlights of the week that was.
The season’s first Head of House, Mich, was safe from eviction, and so was Sammy M, who won immunity during the week. However, Mich’s reign was not without drama, as the housemates lost their first wager and also faced challenges from confrontational housemates.
During the show, some of the housemates spoke with Lawrence about their experiences in the house so far. McJunior and Pale spoke about their thoughts on PapaGhost being intense when working with his fellow housemates, while Mpumi gave the tea about Jareed having eyes for her and the other ladies in the house. Lerato Modise and Meelay discussed settling down, while Yolanda spoke about her relationship with food in Biggie’s house.
On Friday, Lindokuhle “Bravo B” Nsele was disqualified from Big Brother Mzansi: S’ya Mosha for allegedly plotting to engage in sexual intercourse with a housemate who was under the influence.
This comes after a video clip from the show circulated on social media between Bravo B and fellow contestant Tshepo “Makhekhe” Tau, where Bravo B suggested they “f**k” two female housemates because they were drunk.
The clip caused outrage on social media, with viewers calling for both Bravo B and Tshepo to be disqualified from the show.
Multichoice stated on Friday, 26 January condemning the incident and shared that Bravo B will be disqualified for initiating and driving the conversation, while Tshepo will face a reprimand from Big Brother with a social lesson on behaviour etiquette.
