NUM is set to challenge Gold One mine dismissals.
The National Union of Mineworkers has launched an appeals process for workers fired from Gold One Mine.
This comes after 401 miners were fired—a figure that has since increased to 445.
Over 500 workers failed to emerge from an underground shaft in what the mine considered to be a hostage situation after workers at the mine downed tools over a labour dispute over organizing rights.
Among other things, the labourers are accused of organizing an unlawful sit-in at the Springs underground gold mine the previous year.
