After a brief appearance at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, 08 November, the rape, attempted murder and assault case against Jub Jub has been postponed.
The Uyajola 9/9 presenter, who handed himself over to police in July and was subsequently released on R10 000 bail will be back at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on 11 December.
Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye faces 13 counts of rape, attempted murder, indecent assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and kidnapping, brought forward by four women.
Initially, the 43-year-old was only charged with three counts of rape, two counts of attempted murder, and assault.
However, the National Prosecuting Authority said there were several other charges from three other women who came forward that are related to the rapper.
The four women who came forward are Amanda du Pont, Kelly Khumalo, Masechabe Khumalo, and a woman who is related to Jub Jub.
Both Amanda and Kelly have been in relationships with the rapper, with Kelly sharing a son with Jub Jub.
The case was postponed after Jub Jub’s legal representative asked for a postponement due to the absence of further particulars from the NPA.
Jub Jub’s bail has also been extended until his next court appearance.
