Miss World SA Vice President (VP), Carolyn Baldwin Botha has been accused of racism after an audio clip of her allegedly using the “K-word” gains steam online.
Botha, who slammed the allegations, claims the person who leaked the clip on social platforms had done so after altering her voice.
In the audio clip, Botha can be heard having a telephonic conversation with someone over a sanitary pad drive, during which she blurts out that one of “her girls”, a pageant contestant had to wait for more than an hour in a “K***** infested mall.”
“I told them to leave, and she wasn’t late, she was on time. She was there at 09h00, an hour before she was supposed to be there, in a k***** infested mall, so would you want to stand there waiting for someone for 4-hours to maybe bring pads and tins?”

However, Botha has since denied the allegations she’s racist, having told TimesLive that there’s a smear campaign against her, claiming the audio of her voice was manipulated by a disgruntled beauty queen.
“It is the use of my words. I did not say that sentence. They have spliced wording I have used together,” says Botha, who adds that she has consulted an expert who was able to confirm it for her.
