Carol Bouwer’s son, Danté, graduates from the esteemed Bayes Business School at City University of London, marking a proud moment for the Bouwer family.
The graduation ceremony was held at the Barbican and Carol Bouwer expressed deep appreciation for witnessing her son’s academic achievement. She reflected on the challenging times when their lives were confined to “isolation and uncertainty.”
In her congratulatory message to the class of 2023, Bouwer acknowledged their “determination and perseverance” that led them to triumph. Her pride in Danté’s accomplishments was evident as she praised his exceptional talents, “sharp mind, and invaluable gifts.”
Carol Bouwer also extended her gratitude to everyone who stood by Danté during his time in London.
In closing, Carol shared a few words of wisdom shared by the deputy president of the university:
- Learn something new every day
- Reflect on other people’s perspectives (yours cannot be the only view)
- Time is precious. Spend it wisely (if they discuss others, leave them and find those who discuss ideas)
- Plan your career
- Give back! Educate yourself (grow others as you grow)
- Ignore hierarchy. Listen to everyone (the cleaner may teach you more than the president)
- Praise generously (encourage others when they do well)
- Take risks (fear kills more dreams than mistakes will)
- Ask questions. (You learn more by asking than speaking)
