Musicians Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode, and Boity have been announced as the flagship talent for the new talent agency Aline.
According to a statement shared, Aline also produces live shows, content, experiential events, and concerts.
CEO Sibo Mhlungu expounded on the new partnership: “We represent storytellers who shape culture while accelerating their growth through deepening connections with consumers and forging partnerships across entertainment and media as we position our clients for success. We’re indebted to Tshepo Mahloele for believing in us and bringing this vision to life,” he said.
“This speaks to a new dawn in talent management, event production, as well as African arts, film, and music. Locally developed and globally competitive content coming from the continent to the world by world-class media and entertainment practitioners who have worked tirelessly to perfect both their craft and market-related standards.”
The announcement comes on the heels of Nomcebo and Zakes Bantwini’s triumph at the 65th Grammy Awards alongside Wouter Kellerman.
In his acceptance speech, Kellerman thanked everyone who contributed to Bayethe.
“On the road to sharing South African music and culture with the world, thank you to Nomcebo and Zakes for your incredible creativity. Thanks to my manager and friends who have stood with me, and thanks to all the musicians who contributed to the album and to my peers who supported us, I’ll never forget it.”
Zakes Bantwini hopes the win will inspire those who dare to dream.
“I just want to say we are coming from Africa, South Africa. And this moment here is for anybody who is in Africa to prove and affirm that every dream is valid. I want to say thank you to the academy and every child in the ghetto. Just know it is possible.”
