Miss SA Top 12 finalist, Levern José has been accused of being a bully in high school after a number of women spoke out on social media.
While the Miss SA organisation refuses to comment about the allegations against one of its finalists, Twitter users are calling for action to be taken against the Miss SA hopeful.
Accusations of bullying surfaced on Friday, 09 June after Miss SA announced its Top 12 finalists, revealing José had made the cut.
While José was proud of herself for reaching the Top 12, several women who had reportedly been bullied by her shared how beauty contestant had traumatised them in school.
“My journey was not easy, which makes it so worth it.
I am extremely proud of myself for being vulnerable and honest in my interview. The Miss SA organisation has amazed me so much with the support offered and simply creating a safe and comfortable space for me to be my authentic self.”

In a thread, one Twitter user detailed several incidents that José had intimidated her after the guy she was dating started dating José’s friend.
According to Katcho Koe, José started bullying her in 2017 and it lasted a few years. Things escalated to the point that José reportedly instigated one of her friends to beat Koe and her friend up.

She used to bully her class mates in high school. Telling them they can't do shit to her cuz she's coloured. She was in a group that made other kids a living hell back in 2017. @Lavern_Jose is a horrible human

Another woman, Faith Judith Msiza accused Levern José of bullying her at Lyttelton Manor High School.
Msiza recalled an incident where she witnessed José and her friend bully and hit another girl in their school.
“Levern José, is the girl who bullied me in high school. She attended Lyttelton Manor High School.
My father and I also witnessed her and her friend, Aysha bully and hit a girl named Deborah after school and when the mother tried to intervene, they intimidated her.”
The women are calling for Miss SA to remove José as a finalist, but Miss SA CEO, Stephanie Weil, says she has “no comment” over the accusations of bullying.
Since the accusations surfaced, Levern José has deactivated comments on her Instagram. She has not responded to the bullying accusations either.
Where can we report for her to be removed from Miss South Africa?
