‘It has sentimental value’ or ‘I can’t get myself to throw it away’ or ‘So and so gave it to me’ are just some of those excuses we tend to make when there’s a pile of items in our home that belong in the dustbin.
Many of us have items that we save and consider special. However, this is typically considered hoarding.
If you hoard, it’s likely because you have strong feelings or convictions about all of your possessions. This makes getting rid of anything exceedingly challenging.
You may hoard if you have a strong desire to hold onto stuff.
