Londie London recently joined L-Tido for a sitdown on his podcast. One of the things they discussed was Londie’s time on The Real Housewives of Durban.
On joining the show in 2022, Londie noted that it made a lot of sense for her at the time as she was in Durban and her friend Annie was on the show.
She admits that although she had some good times, the experience was “tricky.”
“I had never been on a reality show before. It is real, we don’t even know what we are going to talk about. I had a good time on the show and a good time with the ladies. It was very interesting but time-consuming though,” she said.
“Shooting the show was great but the not-so-great thing was watching the show. You get all these different opinions from people that you did not expect. You were living the show and someone is watching the edits of the show. They like ‘Londie was mean at that moment and I’m like but they didn’t show that part when they were mean to me.'”
The mother of two adds that she ended up being grumpy because of that reason. That’s the part I didn’t like because every time I watched the show I ended up being grumpy about it or used to cry about it,” she said.
How Londie met Umi’s dad
Earlier this year, Londie revealed that she had officially split from Umi’s dad. Speaking about the nature of their relationship, she revealed that they were not officially married, however, he paid lobola for her.
“In Zulu culture, you still had to go through many events to get to that part where you are officially married. I wasn’t engaged, I was on my way,” said Londie.
“It was a lockdown and we were already living together. Pregnancy also popped up and there was also more pressure.”
The two met in 2018 when Umi’s dad booked Londie to come and perform at his birthday party, however, they only started dating months later. The one thing that made Londi fall in love with him was the “consistent support he showed her.”
