South African YouTuber Lasizwe Dambuza has announced that he quit alcohol. Taking to social media over the weekend, Lasizwe revealed that Monday, 24 April 2023 marked a month of sobriety.
Dambuza notes that this “journey has been both challenging and rewarding.”
“Maintaining sobriety in the midst of social gatherings has been one of his biggest challenges, especially, “when one’s friends are not abstaining,” shared Lasizwe.
Nonetheless, the experiencee has taught him “valuable lessons in self-awareness and self-control, particularly in managing anxiety.”
Lasizwe added,”I am proud of the progress I have made and look forward to continuing on this path of personal growth.”
His close friend and fellow YouTuber Mihlali Ndamase also celebrated a month of sobriety recently. Speaking to L-Tido on his podcast about her lifestyle change, Mihlali said that it was “affecting her productivity and made no sense for her business.”
“It also made no sense for my overall health. That’s when I was like ‘this alcohol thing is not worth it.’ Even if I don’t quit forever, should I go back I’ll know that I have adopted healthier habits when it comes to drinking.” said Mihlali.
