Last week Friday it was reported that there was a kidnapping attempt on Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage.
Hours later, Tiwa Savage confirmed that there was “a major security breach at her residence.”
A number of suspects were caught and are currently held under investigation at Alagbon Police Station in Lagos, Nigeria.
The musician and her family are now safe and well. It is believed that the attempted kidnapping was planned by her domestic staff, who had been entrusted with vital information about her.
The Guardian Nigeria reports that “the “domestic staff had been trailing the singer as she left her home and shared the information with other members of the alleged kidnapping gang.”
This is a developing story
Tiwa Savage, 43, has often been referred to at the Queen of Afrobeat. In November 2018, she won Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards, becoming the first woman to win the category.
