Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) confirmed that OR Tambo International Airport was in a frenzy on Tuesday, 13 March due to a bomb scare.
A Singapore Airlines flight was flagged as a bomb threat but has since been declared safe.
The flight in question, SQ 478 is still grounded according to ACSA, after being screened by the police K9 units.
Emergency services were also activated and on scene to prioritise the safety of passengers and staff.
“The aircraft landed at OR Tambo International Airport and is still on the ground. Emergency services were activated along with Fire and Rescue and South African Police Services.
At approximately 11h39 the aircraft was declared safe by SAPS, after screening was completed by K9 units.”
