Kaya Drive is airing out your dirty laundry, literally, with Sizwe Dhlomo asking if there’s a right and wrong way to wash your underwear?
The tweet that sparked the conversation was on a thread about “vat and sit” situationships. A Twitter user shared how her husband washes his underwear with his shower gel, whilst in the shower.
Having had the conversation over baths vs a shower, Siz’ curiousity got the better of him and he wanted to know listener’s underwear washing habits.
If you think for a second the afternoon host would not judge you, think again because Siz is of the belief that your underwear should be washed personally.
“It’s no one else’s responsibility to wash your underwear. Also, this thing of washing it in the bath is not it, the bath water is dirty. At least in the shower, it’s clean, running water. I also start with my underwear first and then I shower, because I’m not going to throw it on the shower floor, scrub myself and then wash my underwear, no, because now it’s got soap suds all over it.”
Siz isn’t the only team member who is extremely pedantic about their underwear cleaning, as Mbali Dhlamini double washes her delicates.
“I heard that you shouldn’t clean your underwear with regular bath soap because it has oils in it, so you won’t really be giving your underwear a good, clean wash.
So, what I do is I wash my underwear while I’m taking a bath or a shower, and then at the end of the week, I throw it in with the rest of my laundry and put it in the washing machine.”
