Fears are high in Florida, Johannesburg after a notorious West Rand gang leader was gunned down in an apparent hit.
Police confirm that 38-year old Keenen Sheldon Ebrahim, who was reportedly the “Fast Guns” gang leader was shot and killed on Thursday, 23 February.
It is suspected that Ebrahim was gunned down in a revenge attack for the murder of a boy in Westbury last week.
Communities in both areas are now terrified that an all-out war is going to ensue due to the on-going gang rivalry.
Reports suggest that Westbury residents were outraged after the young boy was caught in the crossfire.
Residents say the situation is Westbury in like a warzone with shooting incidents on a daily basis.
Community groups have been warning residents against leaving their homes.
The West Rand gang leader was shot inside his Mercedes Benz when occupants of a silver Jetta 6 opened fire on him.
Ebrahim is said to have lost control of his vehicle whilst being shot at.
His car hit a pavement, and he sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Ebrahim was rushed to nearest medical facility but was declared dead.
