Gospel star Dr Tumi has opened up about the mugging incident that was captured on CCTV footage recently.
The ‘Nothing Without You’ singer was standing outside a car wash and eatery in Midrand when a mugger walked up to him and snatched his phone.
The mugger then made a quick escape in a nearby car, while Dr Tumi helplessly looked on.
Speaking to the Daily Sun, Dr Tumi says he was not shocked that he got mugged because, like many South Africans, he is used to violence and crime.
“I was like ‘okay, it happened’,” he told the paper.
Fortunately, Dr Tumi was not injured in the incident.
