The Real Housewives of Johannesburg returns with new faces.
The reality show, which aired for two seasons ended in 2019. Much to the delight of fans, The Real Housewives of Johannesburg returns for another season.
Director, Sonia Mbele confirmed this to Kaya 959.
She says the last season they shot never aired because the women decided to fight.
“The previous season was cancelled because the women decided to go physical.
“Even though the contract does stipulate that you are not allowed to be physical, they did and production got canned in episode 3.
The former Generations actress says it’s mostly businesswomen who are cast in season 3.
“We’ve got Nicole Watson who’s an actress – she also works for a PR company. We’ve got two oldies joining.”
Bringing the Real Housewives to South Africa was a challenging task for Sonia.
“I tried to work on The Real Housewives in 2013. South Africa was not ready then. I Tried again in 2017 and got commissioned for 2018.
“I knew that was the franchise that was going to work in Africa.”
Despite what has been said in the media, Sonia maintains she’s been nothing but an amazing boss.
“I call it BS, today what executive producer makes sure that there are messages behind the scenes, like your IV drips because people get exhausted? Like you do your best.
“I’ve never made money out of producing. I’ve mademoney elsewhere because I take my production fee money and invest it back into the production.”
