Actress, TV producer, businesswoman and mom Sonia Mbele (44) is taking on a new business venture in the water industry
She recently hosted a successful launch of her alkaline water brand, Alkamax, at Melrose Arch on Wednesday the 24th of November.
She took to her Instagram to announce the new product saying that it’s the only black-female owned ph 10+ water brand in South Africa.

“We are a Alkaline water manufacturing and distributing brand. Alkamax is the only black owned ph 10+ purest water distributing plant in SA. Getting support from each and everyone of you would be a true honour.” she said.
She also added that scientists use pH to describe how acidic a substance is on a scale of 0-14. Because alkaline water has a higher pH level than plain tap water, proponents say it can neutralise the acid in your bloodstream. It contains minerals and vitamins.

Mbele recently made her acting comeback in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela, “DiepCity” and has impressed many of her fans with the character she plays.
She says the goal is to provide affordable Alkaline water to South africans.
“The ultimate goal is to produce thee healthiest water while assisting, mentoring and empowering individuals with an interest to re-sell and re-distribute water in this climate of scarcity to the masses!”
