South African barista Phuti Mmotla has officially been crowned as the best barista in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
The Starbucks® Reserve Roastery in Milan, the epicentre of Starbucks® coffee knowledge, served as the final stage of this year’s competition, which annually attempts to find the greatest barista talent.
Mmotla has been practising for the competition in the three categories that he had to display in Milan: latte art, a personal coffee tasting, and an iced coffee beverage.

His journey in coffee is remarkably similar to the tale behind the coffee.
Congratulations are in order
