Starting her day on 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka is singer/songwriter Zamajobe.
Zamajobe is known for her award-winning 2004 hit Ndawo Yami.
Speaking about the success of the song, she says it was close to her heart.
“I just loved the song. I told the label that I wanted it as the title track. I guess the love I felt for it connected with the people.”
The singer explains why she took a break from music at the height of her career.
“I stopped because I was moving so much and I didn’t know what was happening. It was just a constant go.
“I wasn’t even aware that I was feeling anything until a certain situationship and I had a trigger. Now I realised that it’s not necessary to stop.”
Looking back, she says it’s important to go through your emotions instead of running away.
“The entertainment industry is not something to take a break from than to stay away from.
She assured fans that she will never take a break from music again. “I would rather be transparent than take a break,” she added.
Zamajobe has a new Amapiano single Babawethu.
She says she is just having fun with the music.
“I think my vocals can fit anywhere. I’m not changing, a proper album will be coming soon with what people are used to.”
