Establishing healthy boundaries is extremely important.
Although very necessary, many people still struggle with setting boundaries in their relationships, romantic or otherwise.
Healthy boundaries are rooted in mutual respect and protect your mental, emotional and physical well-being from fostering unhealthy relationships at work, at home, or in your social circles.
But what does setting healthy boundaries look like?
A healthy boundary can look like a simple No when feeling uncomfortable or deciding to go home when your friends insist that you should stay out longer.
Setting boundaries can be tricky, but the end result can be fulfilling and empowering.
Boundaries allow us to:
- retain our identity.
- be assertive.
- prevent others from taking advantage of us.
- be comfortable in our own personal space.
