A Limpopo patient has received life-changing surgery which will give her a new lease on life. In addition, within the next 7 to 8 weeks she will also receive keys to a new, fully furnished home.
Meida Ramuhala, who suffered for years with a rare condition called Mandibular Ameloblastoma, can now finally live a normal life.
Thanks to the Limpopo Health Department’s, Rural Health Matters Programme, Meida underwent surgery to remove a massive tumour which was growing on her face.
The tumour, which impacted Meida’s way of life, making it difficult for her to eat, drink and work was successfully removed, and now Meida has her smile back.
Limpopo Health MEC, Dr Phophi Ramathuba intervened to give Meida the life-changing surgery and together with the Collen Mashawana Foundation, Meida will have a fully furnished new home which is currently being built.
Dr Ramathuba who recently made headlines for her views on foreign nationals putting strain on the public health system, didn’t hesitate to change Meida’s life for the better.
In a statement issued on the Limpopo Department of Health’s social media, Ramathuba said, “I approached the Collen Mashawana Foundation who didn’t hesitate but made a commitment to better Meida’s life. By working together, we can do more to serve humanity.”
The MEC thanked the foundation and called upon all South Africans to join hands and uplift the lives of the downtrodden.
