President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed support for the citizens of Jagersfontein and promised that the government will provide assistance to those whose homes were destroyed.
According to Ramaphosa, an initiative to aid the citizens of Jagersfontein in the Free State will be inspired by the government’s accomplishments during COVID-19.

Ramaphosa visited locals and assured them that the government would provide the same level of protection for the at least 300 individuals who were affected by the incident on Sunday as it had done during COVID-19.

Residents of Jagersfontein complained that their problem with a nearby mine went back to more than ten years during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit there on Monday, causing dissatisfaction.
After numerous homes and farmland in the Charlesville region were devastated by the collapse of a dam wall at a nearby mine on Monday, Ramaphosa paid a visit to the area.
