Ahmed Mody, who plays as a defender for Egyptian football side Pharco FC says Al Ahly players told him that South African football coach Pitso Mosimane was a “mediocre coach.”
“Some of the Al Ahly players told me that Pitso Mosimane is a mediocre coach and only wins by luck. I supported his decision to leave the club,” the player told Al Hayat TV channel.
Mosimane was head coach of Al Ahly from September 2020 to June 2022, leading the club to two Champions League titles.
Speaking to Kaya Biz with Gugulethu Mfuphi recently, Mosiame said it was a very “difficult decision” to make.
“I just felt it was the time to leave, I had renewed the contract last year and had thought I would stay longer, but every good thing comes to an end.
“I felt that I must just give a hand over to the next coach and just let them take the team to a higher level,” explained the coach in part.
