According to Stat SA, Black African women are the most vulnerable with an unemployment rate of 39,3% in Q2:2022.
This is 3,8 percentage points higher than the national average for women at 35,5%.
The Quarterly Labour Force Survey for the second quarter of 2022 was released on Tuesday morning by statistician-general Risenga Maluleke.

According to Maluleke, 47% of South African women were classified as being economically inactive, and in contrast to their male counterparts, who make up 35,6% of the workforce, this indicates that over half of working-age women are not employed.
