Operation Dudula has released Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini, as the movement’s leader on Monday, 25 July.
An agreement was reached that Lux would work exclusively on Soweto Parliament.
In a joint statement released by Lux on social media, the two groups said they will in the future work together but independently.
‘The two groups have resolved to deal with these issues independently (under different brands), but complementary manner as it is public knowledge that there is Operation Dudula and that there is Soweto Parliament”
“Most importantly, based on the workload and a multicity of these community based operations and/or campaigns, the partties agreed to allow Nhlanhla Lux to focus exclusively on Sowetto Parliament and its programmes” read the statement.

Dlamini gained notoriety when, during the unrest in July of last year, he appeared on television in front of Maponya Mall and said that he had teamed up with law-abiding individuals to protect the shopping centre from looters.
Later, under the premise of an anti-illegal immigration effort, Operation Dudula was established, and it has since established branches in some of the provinces.
Its leaders have recently been under fire, particularly from human rights advocacy groups who claim they are fueling the flames of prejudice and xenophobia.
