Nigerian government authorities have demolished the mansion of Prince Joseph Kpokpogiri.
The ex-lover of Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh said his home was destroyed illegally, without any prior warning.
However, the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Abuja, Nigeria said Kpokpogiri failed to comply.
According to the FHA, the wealthy businessman was given notices to seize building at different stages during the construction.
His mansion obstructed an important bypass and was therefore not compliant.
“The plot in question was part of what was in the allocation, but because of the importance of the road, we wrote to FHA, notifying it that a number of their plots had been affected by the realignment of the road, and that we were going to give them replacement plots.
The mansion was sitting on a rock in the fast developing district, and was an obstruction to a major road network connecting the popular Apo bridge to many parts of the city.
As a result the FHA was ordered not to allow further developments on the affected plots.
Kpokpogiri said his mansion cost over 700 million Naira and is vowing to fight the injustice he was subjected to by the Nigerian government.
