Phila Dlozi announced on social media that he has signed a new publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.
Dlozi is an indigenous singer, poet, and drummer from Kwasokhulu, KwaZulu-Natal, who is due to release a new album later this year.
The 23-year-old has been working hard to establish himself in the entertainment industry.
The star expressed his delight at the new contract. He took to social media and wrote “Happy to announce that I am officially part of the @umpg_southafrica Publishing family. Looking forward to making history with this group of amazing people. 🙏🏾”
Phila expressed his delight at being welcomed into the new family and expressed his eagerness to make history with them.
He burst into the scene when a video of his performance basking in the streets of Randburg went viral.
Recall that DJ Maphorisa collaborated with him in 2021, and the young artists have been making good use of the occasion ever since.
Dlozi, real name Philadlozi Mfekayi, has a very interesting story.
From his father’s polygamous marriage, he has 20 siblings and two mothers.
However, in 2019, musician Dlozi left his privileged home and found himself homeless and seeking a career in music on the streets of Johannesburg.
