It’s dry but you can drink it, well for Dineo Ranaka only if it’s the original and not one of the new Savanna flavours.
The controversial radio personality shared a message to the cider brand asking them to rather send the new flavours to Europe and leave South Africans with Savanna Dry.
Some slammed Ranaka for recording the video whilst driving but there were many who echoed her sentiments that the new flavours were nothing to write home about.
The popular cider is known for its crisp, dry taste and the brand has included many flavours over the years.
These include an Angry Lemon twist, a non-alcoholic lemon flavoured drink and more recently introduced the ciders in cans.
Many are calling for the cans to be removed altogether because it affects the taste of the cider.
The ciders have always been drunk out of glass bottles but after a bottle shipping issue, the brand introduced the cans.
“Dear Savanna company, you know our tastebuds as black people, we’re used to mogodu, manqina, every now and then we dash with the sushi, prawn and oysters but generally we are there with our 7-colours. So, now you are coming with the flavours and they are tekker-tekkering there in the mouth. I think you can send those flavours to Europe or China and leave us with Savanna Dry.”
Ranaka recently made headlines after her estranged husband, Klaas Pesha reportedly filed a defamation case against her.
Pesha is said to be suing for damages of R500 000 over statements Ranaka made on her WhatsApp statuses and during an interview with Mac G.
