Connie Ferguson recently hosted a lavish dinner in Zimbabwe during her first visit to the country.
Ferguson, an Executive Producer and actress is looking to partner with Zimbabwean filmmakers for future projects.
The lavish dinner cost $200 per person and was a black tie event.
Her welcome dinner in Zimbabwe was held at the Meilkes Hotel and was sponsored by Nedbank Zimbabwe.
The 3-day visit to the country was slammed by many Zimbabwean citizens who criticised the government for spending unnecessary money on celebrities.
Zimbabweans said the actress’ visit did nothing for the economy but the government treated Ferguson like royalty.
Amongst the guests were high-profiled dignitaries like Zimbabwean Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, comedians Mai Titi and Madam Boss, musician Sandra Ndebele and many corporates representatives.
The Queen actress, said arts and culture has the capacity to unite people. It may have been her first visit to the country but certainly not the last as Ferguson plans on returning with plans for Kings of Joburg season 2.
“I have already started talking to some filmmakers from Zimbabwe who have been doing great things here. As you may have seen right now, we are trying to cross borders and bridge the gap between African countries with our show Kings of Joburg, and season 2 is coming soon,” she added.
