Speaking to the community Cele said there is a big problem of environmental design that manifests in crime in communities.
“We do not have boundless resources as the South African Police, however, it can not only be the police that is responding to these crimes. For instance, one thing that is a big problem for the South African Police Service is environmental design, that is a big one, and environmental design is not for the police.”
“It’s for other sister departments, as you have said, the community has said they don’t want that place. It can’t be the police, but if they want assistance to deal with that place, we will be there.”
