Authorities have issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for Gauteng, western Mpumalanga and the western Bushveld of Limpopo.
This after heavy rains persisted from Sunday, 3 April over these areas. The warning indicates there is a significant likelihood that flooding will occur.
Yellow Level 4 is not a severe weather warning but it does place emergency teams on high alert due to the possibility of localised flooding.
A steep upper air system will continue to disrupt atmospheric stability causing persistent showers throughout the day on Monday, 4 April.

Widespread thunderstorms and heavy rain overnight has meant the roads throughout Gauteng were affected. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously especially as potholes, sinkholes and fallen trees are likely.
Reports have already come in from the R82 along Kibler Park and Eikenhof, south of Johannesburg of flooding.
The R559 in Protea Glen, William Nicol, as well as the M1 south have also been affected by the heavy rains.
JMPD have warned motorists to avoid roads that are flooded as it is difficult to gauge the depth of the water and vehicles may be swept away.
Heavy rains will affect traffic flow and drivers are advised to leave earlier to avoid peak hour delays as a result.
