The R 1.1 billion relief fund was allocated by Parliament as early as July 2020.
However, disagreements with the industry resulted in a delay in its disbursement, which has now been resolved.
“The disbursement… will be made through the National Empowerment Fund (NEF). We have appointed the NEF as the executing agent for this process and they have worked tirelessly to put in place systems to release funds to thousands of eligible operators, ”said Mbalula.
