There’s a video of award-winning Amapiano producer Kabza De Small making the rounds on social media where the DJ flaunts a Givenchy coat worth R40 000.
Since breaking onto the scene in 2019, Kabza has never looked back. Alongside DJ Maphorisa, they have had the most chart-topping hits in the country in that time period. De Small is also one of the most in-demand stars on the continent.
Like most musicians, Kabza has a love for the finer things in life. He owns a couple of luxury German cars and recently bought himself his first house.

Spearheading the Amapiano movement
Chatting to legendary music producer Oskido in October, Kabza explained how Amapiano came about.
“Amapiano started in the townships. A track will be 125 BPM but you will find the deejays playing it at 115,” he said.
“You’ll get the mixtapes and find yourself enjoying the slow tempo. Once you slow down the tempo, the bass becomes 45, and producers ended up producing songs in slow tempo.”
He revealed that it was a fellow producer who discovered the log drum.
“First it was the remixes, and then Mdu came up with the log drum. I don’t know how he figured it out.
“Amapiano has always been there, but he introduced the log drum sound. And when I got it – I also jumped on the bandwagon. Piano is mainly the log drum,” said Kabza.
