Ami Faku’s fans are coming to her defence after internet trolls made fun of her for wearing “banana shoes”. Most people remember the “banana shoes” or “banana feet” phrase from primary school.
It’s how parents and teachers taught children to put their shoes on correctly. If your shoes look like banana feet then you have them on the wrong way.
Ami Faku seemingly made that mistake during a recent performance. The musician walked out on stage wearing a pair of Nike sneakers. Her shoes were clearly on the wrong way.

While some people joked that it was a new trend, others could not stop laughing at the singer. Some went as far as calling her ‘Ami Banana’.
But banana feels uncomfortable… Even if you sink in a black whole you’d still feel ukuth “Cha im wearing banana” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/MZu1X5YNAZ

Entertainment agency, Vth Season, also defended their client. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Raphael Benza says those mocking Ami are disregarding the mental health of artists.
He also slammed the people who recorded the video, calling them “heartless”.
“Artists have gone through a lot in the past 18 months and we need to be concerned about their mental health issues.”
Ami Faku is yet to comment on the incident.
