In today’s court proceedings, the prosecution in the Free State multi-million-rand asbestos case abandoned its key witness, the US-based Moroadi Cholota.
Cholota was the personal assistant to suspended ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule during his time as the Free State Premier.
State Advocate Johan De Nysschen submitted in the High Court in Bloemfontein that he had also signed a warrant of arrest for Cholota.
Cholota allegedly did not co-operate with the detectives who were posted to the US to get her statement.
The Free State Asbestos Corruption Case involving Ace Magashule and others was also today postponed to the 21st of February 2022.
