Kanye West has officially changed his name to Ye.
According to several reports, a judge in California approved the rapper’s request to legally be known as Ye. He filed paperwork to change his name in August.
The ‘Good Morning’ hitmaker has been calling himself Ye for years. He named his 2018 album ‘Ye’, and hinted that he would start using the name.

Kanye revealed why Ye means a lot to him in a 2018 interview with Big Boy.
“I believe Ye is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means ‘you’. So it’s I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, our everything,” he said.

While the name Ye comes as no surprise to his fans, Kanye also considered another option. He hinted in 2019 that he may call himself Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West.
“When people say it’s crass to call yourself a billionaire, I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y’all understand exactly what it is,” he told Fast Company.
Some Twitter users find Kanye’s new name change hilarious.
