Celebrated actor Kgomotso Christopher recently made a special guest appearance on the Best T In The City with Tbose to take us through what has kept her spirit burning through all these years in the entertainment business.
Over the weekend she scooped a prestigious South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best Actress in a TV Soap for her role as the fisty Yvonne Thebe in Scandal. She has been nominated in this category for 3 years in a row. She shared with Tbose what has kept her going.
“I believe its my calling, I believe there is nothing else I would be doing in this lifetime of mine if I weren’t using my talent and my gift to be a storyteller. It literally feels like something I was brought on this earth to do. I feel some of us are fortunate that we’ve found from a young age this voice that tells us this is why you are here.”

Last year she made headlines as the nation found out she is the voice behind MTN’s Interactive Voice Response system.

As part of her visit, she shared some of her favourite songs and what they mean to her. During the interview, she shared some parenting advice and how she raises her children.
“I raise them in both ways, the world that is to prepare them, protect them and to prepare them, to give them the skill for the world that is. I think I am also very cognisant of the world I wish for, in order to instill in them the ability and the gift that they have to change the future.”
Kgomotso is also a Non-Executive Chairperson on the Naledi Theatre Awards Board of Directors.
